GERARD DECOURCY
Gerard De
Courcy is a lawyer and a partner in the firm of Downie Stewart in Dunedin, New
Zealand.
As a player Gerard played provincial representative squash for many years and
was a nationally ranked player in New Zealand. He was president of the Otago
Squash Club between 1993 and 1997 and was subsequently made a life member.
Gerard was elected to the board of Squash New Zealand in 1997, becoming chairman
in 2002. He resigned as chairman in 2006 upon his election as World Squash
Federation Vice President. Gerard was Oceania Squash Federation Vice President
and on the World Squash Federation Executive Committee from 2003. He has been
director of the World Squash Federation Disciplinary & Appeals Committee since
2005.
Gerard has lectured in Business Law at the University of Otago and is a director
of Bradley Nuttall, a New Zealand financial management business.
He is married (Jan) with two daughters.
